Inverse Trigonometric Relations

The next set of graphs to discuss are those of the inverse relations, namely y = arcsin(x), y = arccos(x), and y = arctan(x). In order to graph these functions, you will need to reflect the original function across the line y = x

graph of y = arcsin(x)

Notice that when the red graph of y = sin(x) is reflected across the green line y = x, the result is the blue graph, representing the relation y = arcsin(x). You can follow this reflection procedure to graph the other inverse relations as well.

The domain of y = arcsin(x) is -1 is less than or equal to x is less than or equal to 1.
The range is All Real Numbers .
